Catapult Falls at SeaWorld San Antonio is a first-of-its-kind log flume attraction. The ride features eleven boats, holding eight riders each. After meandering through calm waters, Catapult Falls launches riders at speeds of 30 feet per second through the first splashdown. Soon enough, the attraction travels up a unique elevator lift and down a 53-degree drop, the steepest of any log flume.

SeaWorld San Antonio announced today that March 2nd will be the opening date for Catapult Falls. The highly anticipated thrill ride is the world’s first launched flume coaster and features the steepest drop in any flume ride. It also has the unique distinction of being the only flume ride in North America to feature a vertical lift.

SeaWorld San Antonio is letting the good times roll as Mardi Gras returns to the park starting this Saturday, January 13 and running through February 25. A new animal attraction is quickly taking shape at SeaWorld San Antonio, but its residents might be a bit slow while roaming around their new home once it is completed. One of the largest tortoises in the world, the Aldabra tortoise – a species currently listed as vulnerable - will soon have a new habitat at SeaWorld San Antonio. Aldabra Island, a new state-of-the-art 7,000 square-foot tortoise habitat will be the perfect size to accommodate the giant reptiles that can weigh upwards of 500 pounds and stand four feet tall.

The Halloween Spooktacular is taking place now at SeaWorld San Antonio. This daytime, family-friendly event features several trick-or-treat stops, a hay maze, live entertainment and more. We also venture around for a daytime preview of the park's Howl-O-Scream event, which shows off haunted house and terror-tory locations. SeaWorld San Antonio also has multiple construction projects, along with the massive solar energy project popping up in the parking lot.

SeaWorld San Antonio is thrilled to share that the much- anticipated “Catapult Falls” will now open in Spring 2024.  The groundbreaking coaster will be the world’s first launched flume coaster with North America’s only vertical lift.  It also will have riders screaming in anticipation of a speedy downward plunge with the steepest drop of any flume ride.

Today, SeaWorld San Antonio announced that their new Catapult Falls attraction will be delayed until 2024. SeaWorld sent the update to pass members, which states, “Our upcoming attraction Catapult Falls - the first launched, flume coaster in the world - is now expected to open in 2024. While we hoped to introduce this exciting thrill to our fans this year, sometimes it takes longer than expected to bring ‘firsts’ to life.”

SeaWorld is launching Passport to Thrills, an exclusive program for pass members. From now until May 14 pass members can opt-in and begin to qualify for exclusive access and bonus experiences just by visiting Texas’ Biggest and Best Theme Park, SeaWorld! The centerpiece of Passport to Thrills is Catapult Falls, a new attraction for 2023 that is a first-of-its-kind ride that is part coaster and part flume ride, with a vertical lift elevator leading to a steep drop and a water splash down.

SeaWorld is putting its spin on the traditional Mardi Gras celebration by bringing the Big Easy to San Antonio with the SeaWorld Mardi Gras event kicking off on Saturday, January 14th. The entire park will be jazzed up for a New Orleans style carnival, complete with live music, extravagant costumes, Mardi Gras-inspired culinary specials including new, expanded and returning Cajun and Creole food items, alcoholic drink specials; in addition to thrilling rides and animal encounters.

SeaWorld San Antonio today announced the construction of a NEW water flume coaster, Catapult Falls, coming in 2023. The first-of-its-kind ride combines the thrill of a launched roller coaster, the excitement of a vertical lift elevator that lifts riders above the theme park, and a water flume ride with the steepest drop, to produce multiple rushes of adrenaline as well as moments of exciting splashes to cool guests down.

Major construction continues at SeaWorld San Antonio with more land clearing across from the Wave Breaker roller coaster. Other construction projects are also happening, including multiple new haunted house buildings. Texas Stingray, a wooden coaster, opened at SeaWorld San Antonio on February 22, 2020. The thrilling family attraction was designed by Dustin Sloane of Skyline Attractions and manufactured by Great Coasters International. Texas Stingray stands 96 feet tall and reaches a top speed of 55 miles per hour.
