ZDTs Amusement Park Switchback Wooden Coaster

Today, ZDT’s Amusement Park in Seguin, Texas announced a final operating date of Sunday, August 17, 2025. Please read their official statement below.

For more than 18 years, we’ve had the privilege of filling your days with smiles, thrills, and unforgettable memories. After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close ZDT’s Amusement Park. Our last day of operation will be Sunday, August 17, 2025. We would love to see you one more time before the gates close.

If you’ve been holding on to ZDT’s gift cards or "any day" tickets, please plan to redeem them before that date.

Thank you for making ZDT’s part of your story. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Hope to see you around the park,
The ZDT’s Team

ZDT’s Amusement Park first opened its doors in March 2007. The park features a unique environment having been constructed at the site of a former agricultural and grocery center. Owned and operated by the Donhauser family, ZDT’s was named after their three children, Zac, Danielle and Tiffany, using the first letter of each name. One season after their grand opening, ZDT’s unveiled a multi-level go cart attraction. The exciting ride, now fully electric, takes riders through once-active grain warehouses. Other attractions would also take advantage of the unique grounds, including the Silo Climb, sending adventurers climbing up and down former grain silos.

2010 marked the continuation of huge expansion for the park with the addition of the Mad Raft Water Coaster. The water attraction uses water jets to propel riders up and down various drops. With the addition of Mad Raft, the Viper, Vipers Tail and Splash Zone water attractions would also debut. Other outdoor attractions include the Dizzy Toucan and the Parachute Drop, a 65-foot tall tower that sends riders bouncing up and down.

2015 brought on the introduction of Switchback, a wooden shuttle roller coaster. The first wooden shuttle coaster in the world, Switchback reaches speeds of 40 miles per hour with a record-breaking 87-degree drop. An ambitious and successful project, Switchback winds its way through the park’s historical setting via an incredibly compact layout. Being a shuttle coaster, riders experience both a forwards and backwards journey. Switchback was ranked in the top 5 best new rides for 2016 and has consistently been considered a top-50 wooden coaster in the world by theme park enthusiasts.

ZDT’s has provided nothing but excellent experiences during our multiple visits to the park. The Donhauser family has done an incredible job operating and maintaining the park and we are sad for the end. We encourage everyone to make a visit to ZDT’s one last time before they close the doors on August 17. Make sure to grab a hot dog and some fried Oreos!
