Milestone Reached: Six Flags Over Texas Completes the World’s Tallest Immelmann Inversion on Tormenta Rampaging Run

The Immelmann Inversion of Tormenta Rampaging Run, the world’s tallest, fastest, longest and first-ever giga (300+-foot-tall) dive coaster, was completed yesterday evening. Upon reaching the top of the already completed 309-foot lift hill, riders will be held atop just long enough to catch their breaths before diving over the edge and down the 285-feet beyond vertical drop, which immediately then will send riders through the 218-feet Immelmann inversion at 87 mph.

Other projects, such as the El Aserradero refresh, new dining and shopping signage and spruced up landscaping, are also in progress. Tormenta Rampaging Run construction moves forward as the first drop has nearly been topped off, marking the coaster's tallest point.

Today, Six Flags Over Texas released its 2026 operating calendar and good any day tickets with daily tickets through Labor Day available starting Dec. 10. The park, currently in full swing of its beloved winter event Holiday in the Park, will take a seasonal break, closing Jan. 5 through Feb. 27. During this period, the park will kick off preparations for the 2026 season and its highly anticipated 65th anniversary milestone.

Six Flags Over Texas unveiled the train for Tormenta Rampaging Run, the record-breaking dive roller coaster set to debut in 2026, in a dual reveal that took place at the park and at the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo (IAAPA) in Orlando. The world’s first giga dive coaster was announced in late September in which the six world records it will shatter, once open, were shared. Now, with the vehicle uncovered and the track on display as it's being installed in the park, the visual story is ready to be told.

The construction site now also has a few footers poured with more coming soon. A new entertainment offering, Dueling Pianos, is playing at Crazy Horse Saloon for a limited time through July 27. The park's historic Southern Palace Theatre is undergoing major renovations to prepare it for future entertainment offerings.

Visible construction is under way on Six Flags Over Texas' 2026 giga dive coaster addition as the parking lot is prepped for footers. Additional track and support pieces have also arrived. New refill stations, the re-debut of All American Cafe and other refreshes highlight our visit. Last year, our summer weekday visit to the park left a lot to be desired. This year, however, we were pleasantly surprised by our experiences.

Summer operations have begun at Six Flags Over Texas, but there's not much happening beyond riding rides. Renovations continue at the park's entrance with a front gate refresh. El Mercado de la Plaza has reopened with improved aesthetics and work moves on with the remodel of All American Cafe. Coaster track and supports for the to-be-named giga dive coaster have also arrived in the parking lot, along with new log flume boats for El Aserradero. We also discuss huge changes coming to Six Flags with the elimination of all park president positions.
