Giga Dive Coaster Track & Supports Arrive, Summer Off to Slow Start at Six Flags Over Texas
Summer operations have begun at Six Flags Over Texas, but there's not much happening beyond riding rides. Renovations continue at the park's entrance with a front gate refresh. El Mercado de la Plaza has reopened with improved aesthetics and work moves on with the remodel of All American Cafe. Coaster track and supports for the to-be-named giga dive coaster have also arrived in the parking lot, along with new log flume boats for El Aserradero. We also discuss huge changes coming to Six Flags with the elimination of all park president positions.
Front Gate Construction Continues
Big changes have continued at the park’s front gate as the Guest Relations/Roller Coaster Coffee building has been repainted and received new bollards and a shade structure. On the opposite side, the site of the former restroom has reopened with new pavers and a sitting area. Stroller and wheelchair rentals have moved into their own indoor space instead of the small window pictured above. The park’s normal exit has also returned after minor concrete work.
Dining & Shopping Refreshes
El Mercado de la Plaza has reopened near the park’s main entrance. The shopping location has been expanded and refreshed. New signage and paint is also noticeable on the shop’s exterior. Over in Texas, E.G. Sugarwater’s has reopened with new signage, paint and upgrades to make it a more efficient refill station. We expect additional new refill stations to open soon around the park.
Continuing Projects
Renovations of All American Cafe are still in progress as the restaurant’s kitchen and serving area are getting a major overhaul. All American Cafe is expected to have the same serving setup as JB’s Smokehouse BBQ to increase efficiency. An additional refill station is being constructed near the exit of Aquaman: Power Wave. It appears that registers will be in the center and two refill counters will be located on each end.
New Ride Components Arrive
The first components of 2026’s planned giga dive coaster have arrived! Both supports and track segments have been staged in the parking lot. Additional pieces will likely continue to show up throughout the summer months. Upgrades are also coming to El Aserradero, the park’s log flume. New boats have arrived and will go into service soon. The new boats, manufactured by S&S, feature a seat back divider at the center of the log. S&S owns many of the molds and designs used by Arrow, the ride’s original manufacturer.
